Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs
The ministry, which carried out its task with the name of Ministry of Environment and Forestry between 8 April 2003 and 26 June 2011, transferred duty and authority  to the Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs and Ministry of Environment and Urbanization on June 29, 2009.
The Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks
The Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks works connected to the Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs and is responsible for protection, planning, forming, development, presentation and conceptualizing the project ofwildlife, wetlands,national parks, nature.Within the context of     reconstruction of Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs,General Directorate established Regional Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks in 15 cities and completed field service.
General Directorate of Forestry
General Directorate of Forestry works connected to the Ministry for Forestry and Water Affairs and is responsible for fulfilling of forestry services in Turkey.Development of the forests, protection of the forests against unlawful and illegal intrusion, natural disasters, fires and various pests, taking precautionary measures, management of the forests to ensure sustainability, the production, transportation, storage and marketing of primary and secondary forest products and any other activities regarding the forests are the responsibilities of the General Directorate.
World Wide Fund for Nature Turkey (WWF Turkey)
The WWF is an international environment protection agency that is active in more than 100 countries. The aim of the WWF is to make a global change and protect the most valuable habitats and species all over the world. The WWF-Turkey was founded with the initiative of Nature Conservation Association in 1996; and in 2001, it became a national agency with a name change to WWF-Turkey. WWF-Turkey is an independent foundation with more than a 30 years record of successful projects. The agency is funded by the donations and corporate sponsorships. The WWF-Turkey has three major activity areas: “protecting the nature in Turkey”, “change in lifestyle”, “fighting against the climate change”.
Protected Areas Network Foundation (PAN Parks)
PAN Parks, taking its name from the abbreviation of Protected Area Network, is a non-profit organization. In 1997, it started as a WWF project with the support of 'Molacaten', a Dutch travel company, and in 1999, it was turned into an independent foundation in accordance with the Dutch laws. The aim of the foundation is to promote the quality in protected area management by establishing a protected area network that balance and harmonize the protection of the natural beauties of Europe with touristic activities. As an independent non-governmental organization, PAN Parks collaborates with the managers of protected areas and local and international business at the level of regional and Europe.
 
Global Environment Fund (GEF)
The GEF is an independent financial organization focusing on global environmental problems. There are 182 members of the GEF - governments, international institutes, non-governmental organizations and private sector representatives. The GEF provides grants for projects that related to biological diversity, climate change, international waters, ozone layer and permanent organic contaminants in developing countries or in countries that economy is in constant change. The aim of these projects is to ensure global benefits for the environment, to relate local, national and global issues and to support sustainable means of existence.
 
GEF Small Grants Programme (SGP)
GEF Small Grants Program (SGP) is a part of the Global Environment Fund (GEF). It provides support for the non-governmental organizations and local groups in protecting and sustaining biological diversity and fight against climate change. The SGP starts with the assumption that the destruction of the nature affects the whole humanity however poor people who live in fragile ecosystems and live on natural resources are the ones that are most affected. The SGP provides funding and experience support to non-governmental projects that aims at conservation and recreation of the nature while taking into consideration of the livelihood and welfare of the people. The program operates on the belief that local and civilian initiatives are able to draw the line between humanitarian and environmental needs. The SGP is implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and is carried by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in 105 countries. UNDP implements the program in the name of three implementing agencies of the GEF - the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the UNDP and the World Bank.
 
United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Turkey
The United Nations Development Program, the international development network of the United Nations, is an organization that supports for the change and provides resources for leading better life information.  The UNDP with its various partnersin 166 countries, operate to help the societies with their own solutions and support people about their national and global development initiatives. The UNDP Turkey works on 1) capacity development for providing democratic governance, 2) putting up efforts for reducing poverty, and 3) environment and sustainable development. In addition to these major areas, the UNDP gives a lot of importance of role of Information and Communication Technologies, private sector, capacity development of women in its policies and projects.
For making progress inthis field and contributing Turkey’s progress, the UNDP get into a partnership with the government, the local administrations, civil society, universities and the private sector while working in close relationship with the ministries for an effective implementation of the development projects. The UNDP works with the other UN agencies in Turkey to make sure the best results are obtained from the UN projects, especially on women, youth and internally displaced people issues as well as Millennium Development Goals. UNDP Turkey Representation in Ankara has also project offices in İstanbul, Erzurum, Adıyaman, Mardin, Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa.
 
Western Black Sea Development Agency
Western Black Sea Development Agency was established on 25 June 2009. The headquarters of Western Black Sea Development Agency is in Zonguldak and the agency operates in Zonguldak, Karabük and Bartın. The major aim during the establishment process ofWestern Black Sea Development Agency is to create synergy among various actors with different powers and responsibilities such as the governorates, municipalities, other public offices, universities, chambers of commerce and trade, and non-governmental organizations for socially and economically holistic development of the cities in the region.
